AMA: How to Alleviate Hosting Stress and My Top Restaurant Experiences of 2022
Why delegating will be your favorite new skill and my best food memories of the year
I’m here to tell you the art of delegation will save you this holiday season.
The holidays can be stressful, especially on hosts. This week we’ll talk about why everyone who’s entertaining should know how much space they have, how many burners there are, and how many ovens they have access to before they plan their meal. Consider rounding out the typical charcuterie spread with filling hors d'oeuvres. I put mugs of hot oyster chowder by the door so people can grab one as soon as they get in. And do yourself a favor and buy a YETI cooler STAT.
I also reflect on some of my most memorable dining experiences of the year—of which there are many. Some of my highlights were Kann in Portland, Jupiter and Le Rock—both in NYC, and my friend Gavin Kaysen’s new restaurant in Minneapolis, Mara. Buy his cookbook “At Home” here. I also loved June in Nashville. And there are so many more.
