Duck à l’Orange But Make It Chicken Wings: Spilled Milk #209
These, my friends, are the wings of your dreams.
✈️ LET’S TAKE THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME TOGETHER!
Have you ever wanted to travel with me — I mean, really travel with me? How does spending nine days and eight nights with me in one of my favorite places on earth sound? This October, you can join me on a trip to Sicily thanks to my friends at Modern Adventure. We’ll explore markets, dine at some amazing restaurants and cook together. Hit this link, and I’ll see you in Sicily!
I love duck à l’orange (there is a great recipe for it on my website), and I love chicken wings like a sailor loves the breeze, so this was just a matter of time. And apparently you love wings, too!
In America, chicken wings are a beloved culinary phenomenon that transcends all age, gender and cultural boundaries. From sports bars to family gatherings to weekend BBQs, chicken wings have become a quintessential American comfort food, beloved for many reasons — but I think its the versatility of flavors that really has elevated the wing genre. Other countries brought their love of the wings and recipes to our shores (looking at you, Malaysia!) and the multiplier effect was resounding. And then there were the festivals and wing events, and of course Buffalo Wild Wings and their 30(ish) flavors. Case closed.
Americans eat a staggering amount of wings annually. According to the National Chicken Council, Americans devoured approximately 1.38 billion chicken wings during the Super Bowl weekend alone. That's enough to circle the Earth three times! As far as the other 364 days a year, the love for chicken wings doesn't wane, with an estimated 27 billion wings consumed in the United States each year.
A quick search of the internet showed me a vast array of recipes and cooking techniques, with countless variations, and with the rise of Generation I (the capital I is for influencer) the number of chicken wing recipes on the internet continues to grow exponentially, showcasing the endless possibilities and our unbridled desire for more, more, more, as Billy Idol once sang/screamed.
So do you need another wing recipe? Well, when it is this good, you are damn right you do!!
Shatteringly crisp, sweet and tangy, you wint be able to stop eating them. If you like them spicy (I do) add a Thai chile or two to the juice mixture when it reduces.
Enjoy.
