It’s been a crazy busy week.
I saw some people ask me about phyllo/berry desserts, and one asked me about the dessert described here. They had seen versions of it online a few months ago, and did it work, was it tasty, etc. I had no idea, but this person’s description was tight. It was as simple as a dessert can be. Phyllo + butter, bake. Top with a simple combination of custard and berries. Bake. Eat.
I thought maybe I should brush the phyllo sheets with butter before I folded and placed them in the pan, but if you don’t overstuff the sheets, the top-down approach works well.
For a week where I don’t have time to tie my shoes, this was the most perfect and easiest “no prep” berry dessert of its type that I could imagine making. And it is delicious.
