Big thanks to our Executive Director Erika Polmar for help with this post.
The House Rules Committee, which considers all bills before they go to the Floor for a vote, met on Tuesday, in fact right now, to debate and make a rule for consideration of the HR 3807 The Relief for Restaurant and Other Hard Hit Small Business Act of 2022. Once that is done, the full House will consider the bill as early as Wednesday.
This bill provides $42B to replenish the RRF and an additional $13B to support other small businesses that have been severely impacted by the pandemic.
While it is still very much an uphill battle in the Senate, I believe we have to make sure this bill passes in the House this week with broad bipartisan support.
This isn’t a red or blue issue.
This is about jobs, and local economies, and our communities thriving. If you want to help, please be an advocate, find the House Directory here. Call your congressperson and tell them you support independent restaurants, the most important collective of small businesses in America.
Here is why this is important and what it does
Replenishing the RRF will keep our restaurants open, help us retain our workforce, allow us to continue to contribute to the viability of communities across the country.
My business/Our industry is in peril. COVID-19 surges have emptied our dining rooms, forcing restaurants to do whatever we can to adapt, pivot, and persevere.
More than 90,000 restaurant and bars around the country have closed permanently I don’t want to add more businesses to that growing list.
The Restaurant Revitalization Fund provided $28.6 billion in grants to restaurants in need. This was a great start.
Nearly 200,000 businesses have been waiting to receive the support they need for nearly a year.
During that time they’ve accumulated debt to landlords, suppliers, utility companies and the cost of operating a restaurant have increased dramatically.
By underfunding the program, Congress picked winners and losers in the fight for restaurant relief. Those left behind are paying with their businesses.
There is one solution to all these problems: Replenish the Restaurant Revitalization Fund with a yes vote on HR 3807
HR 3807 will add $42 billion to the Restaurant Revitalization Fund, enough money to give every applicant in the portal the relief they need.

Looks good to me - thank you for this important reminder Andrew! We're not out of the woods yet!
You're right, and it's a good cause, however that is REALLY badly done website. It needs at least a black outline on a lot of those words.
