The Minnesota State Fair has 33 official new foods and six new food vendors, adding to the expansive menu offered at the Great Minnesota Get-Together. In total, the State Fair offers 1,600 foods at nearly 300 concession locations throughout the fairgrounds. Here is a listing of official new foods and vendors for 2024, and what I thought of their offerings, from one to five stars: five being great, one being poor.

3 Piggy Pals-On-A-Stick: Three smoked sausage slices wrapped in bacon, filled with a cream cheese mix and drizzled with barbecue sauce. Topped with a jalapeño slice and served on-a-stick. (Gluten-Friendly)

Afro Poppers: Bite-size pastries infused with an African blend of spices—ground vanilla, cardamom, ginger, cloves and nutmeg—deep-fried and coated with your choice of coconut flakes, sugar or served plain. Topped with your choice of drizzle: mango chutney, caramel or chocolate.

Ba'bacon Sour Cream and Onion: Sour cream and onion hummus topped with beef bacon, sumac tater tots, caramelized onions, scallions, French onion creme fraiche, black cumin seeds and chive oil. Served with pita puffs dusted with sour cream and onion powder. (Gluten-Free without pita puffs, Vegetarian without bacon)
