Where to Eat in Bangkok: Spilled Milk #49
16+ places to eat in one of the world's best food cities.
Yesterday I wrote down some thoughts on my favorite places to stay in Bangkok.
I like big full service hotels in that town. When it comes to the food, well, I have some serious opinions too.
And I want to know yours—let me know in the chat!
This is also an incomplete list. In one of the world’s greatest food towns you just need to stop and discover some places on your own, but this is a good start for anyone needing a boost. My idea of fun is to get lost, look for a crowded place where the sights and smells of the food make me think of staying, and if the people eating there and working there are smiling, then I will for sure grab a table. Enjoy.
15+ Places to Eat in Bangkok
Krua Apsorn
Still the best place for a crab omelet. And the rest of the food is superb. You can’t miss here, unless you skip the crab omelet!
One of the the best places for enjoying pad Thai despite their expansions, and, yes, they sell their own sauces, BUT there is no denying the exquisite nature of their egg wrapped pad Thai. Order the “superb” or the shrimp oil with noodle and enjoy the ride.
Raan Jay Fai
I love this place for everything Jay Fai is making that day. Yes she is IG famous, but she was food famous long before IG existed. And I love her new “don’t ask me for a picture” policy. Yes, you will wait in line, but it’s worth it. Get the crab omelet to share—hers is excellent—the tom yum is delicious and her crab with yellow curry is one of my faves. Ditto the drunken spicy stir-fried noodles and the dry rice congee. Over-order, it’s worth it.
