AMA: Liverwurst, Pro Wrestling, and Chicken Thighs
Plus: Vote for us in the Webbys! And: Do you want to hear more about my guitar collection?
Hello from the Taj Hotel in Lusaka, Zambia! Today, I take questions about this week’s chicken paillard recipe, give a law student advice on how anyone can prepare quick meals to eat during the week, and I also talk a little bit about the décor in my home office.
Would you me to film an AMA about my guitar collection? Or do you have questions about, you know, cooking or travel? Every week, I answer as many questions from people as I can. Paid subscribers can leave questions in the comments below.
Also, if you have a moment, our digital series “Knife Skills” is up for a Webby Award—please vote for it here!

Are there any quick dinner options that you would recommend for a first-year law student living by himself that has like 2 seconds to cook with bare minimum kitchen equipment available?

I notice the Mr. Atlas picture behind you. Are you a big wrestling fan? Any favorite pro wrestlers from the past and present?

People think I'm weird because I like the following foods: liverwurst, chicken livers, pate, scrapple, escargot, buttermilk, and pickle juice. Andrew, how would you rate these foods?

What’s the story with that guitar on your wall?
For the law student, I also recommend a single-serving rice cooker to make perfect rice while you're studying. When I'm in a hurry, I make a bowl of brown rice, then mix in butter, a bit of soy sauce, chopped pistachios, sliced scallions and a handful of chopped cilantro. And minced fresh garlic if I don't plan to be breathing in anyone's face for a day. Easy, healthy, super flavorful. The time it takes is starting the rice and chopping the toppings - easy peasy.
Like yourself, huge 'Wurst ' guy thanks to my mom, dad and his parents, my grand ones on dad's side... Be it Bratwurst, Bockwurst, Frankfurter, Knockwurst, Liverwurst, Weisswurst, + Pâtés... So delicious and so many ways to enjoy it, and the regional variations... Viva la Wurst...!!!
Being a pickled guy, which pairs well with the richness of the sausages... meaning pretty much any pickled veggies...
Hope you & your's had a festive Passover feast... best regards & take care...
