AMA: My Favorite Places in Atlanta
Plus, what to serve when everyone has dietary restrictions.
It’s my favorite day of the week: Ask Me Anything Friday!
This time, I’m talking about cooking for a variety of dietary restrictions, my favorite places in Atlanta, and the Cayman Cookout. And scroll down to see what I am cooking this weekend.
Sending love to everyone in Florida. Sweet Melissa— how are you doing??? We are thinking of you.

What are you making this weekend?
I’m not letting go of outdoor cooking season until my grills are buried in snow (and let’s be honest… I’ll still dig it out and use it). People Magazine recently featured one of my recipes, Grilled Deviled Chicken Thighs With Mint-Yogurt Sauce. It’s salty, sweet, sour, bitter and a little spicy. I think you’ll love it.
This Week’s Questions:
Lisa:
I’m fortunate enough to be attending Cayman Cookout in January. Not staying on site, however. Thoughts on “must attend” festivities? Best chance to run into you during and surrounding the event? Excited to attend, and for some winter sunshine!
Craig:
Having a party in a few weeks and I find that one guest is lactose intolerant and another has celiac disease, although she just told me that it might be Hashimoto’s syndrome and to make it interesting two other guests are high protein KETO only. Need some non conflicting ideas for 6 adults and one child. In the past I’ve made an almond cake with elderflower icing, nobody raged on me. It just seems that everyone wants their private menu.
Some of my favorite recipes that just so happen to be gluten and dairy-free:
Japanese Pan Roasted Duck Breast with Grilled Rice… you can serve cauliflower rice for your Keto guests. Swap out the soy sauce with coconut aminos for your gluten-free friends. It’s a 1-to-1 ratio swap and you won’t notice the difference.
Fresh Summer Rolls with Nuoc Cham… the nuoc cham might have too much sugar for Keto, but you can do a peanut sauce like this one (which is also GF, and also peanut free, so technically a sunflower seed sauce… you get the idea)
Grilled Sheet Pan Chicken… you can make cauliflower rice for your Keto/gluten-free friends.
Jill:
Heading to Atlanta for the first time. What places would you recommend for a breakfast, lunch and dinner? A casual and special occasion spot for dinner would be great.

Andrew - finally got around to looking at tickets for the Cayman Cookout. $800 for two for dinner? Whew! We may have to just come find you on the beach to see you. Looking forward to some January sunshine.
Excellent suggestions for handling 'food' issues... those are always tricky situations when having dining guest... Andrew, I've served your Roast Leg of Lamb w/ Lemony Dill Sauce at several holiday feasts, and everyone just flipped... and it makes a "Showstopper" presentation...
Loquacious??? ....perhaps, yet in a really good way... it's also a major part of your job, of which you're spectacular at... +plus I can feel the enthusiasm in your voice when you talk about all things culinary... Applause, Applause.!!!
BTW: If you ever end-up getting any citations say, possession, disorderly, traffic, parking or perhaps something even more serious... my favorite cousin is the Assistant D.A. in Atlanta... SOooo if you, and only you, need something handled, feel free to give me a buzz, (check subscription info) and I'll see what I can do???
