I had a consulting contract to help a company in Prague organize to sell to American tech companies. I stayed on the downtown end of the Charles Bridge. 2nd night out I found a Belgian restaurant specializing in mussels. Next night my hosts took me to a Czech restaurant that was designed to look like it was in a cave. The food was very good , but a little heavy. The wine was blood red and a little thicker but very good with the heavy meat meal. The fourth night I was on my own and went to a Thai restaurant near the end of teh bridge and downtown. Dessert was being invited to the table next door with ex-head of government Vaclev Havel, his wife and another couple. No secret service just great food and conversation about the transformation from Communism to Democracy for about 3 after dinner drinks. A great city to wander in and view history, mostly untouched by WWII.
When it comes to 'favorite' movies, that requires grouping in genre... there are so many great films, that I can't compare Pulp Fiction to the L.A. Confidential, Good, the Bad & the Ugly & Schindler's List are all 4-star movies, independently... I would find it difficult to believe anyone could pick an all-time greatest??? Perhaps the only way for someone who hasn't seen many movies over the decades, OR they only watches movies in certain genres??
Thanks for the "Sachets, purses, bundles"... you really looking for a more fun name... whats' your thoughts on these 2 twists –– Bundlette, Bundlenni or Pouchi...... a Pork & Shrimp Velopi/Velopie, (short for envelope)...
Forgot to mention for Stephanie - go to Sisters Bistro in Prague near Naše Maso butcher shop on Dlouhá to sample traditional Czech “chlebíčky” (open faced sandwiches & small bites). You can sample smoked meats, cheeses, & the wildly popular Czech favorite beetroot all on sunflower bread. Great lunch spot.
For Stephanie, the restaurant, “Terasa U Zlaté studně,” has outstanding Bohemian cuisine in a romantic rooftop setting just below the Prague Castle offering a spectacular birds-eye view of Prague by night. To sample the famous beef from Czech Fleckvieh cattle, pork from the famous Přeštice pigs (crossbred with wild boar) and traditional Bohemian sausages and smoked meats, go to Naše Maso butcher shop at Dlouhá 39. When in Prague, you must sample their renown beef and pork and Naše Maso can also recommend restaurants that serve Fleckvieh beef and Přeštice pork.
For Stephanie, we were in Prague in 2018 and dined at Field just after they earned their Michelin star. The tasting menu was delightful, not pretentious, fussy or mannered as tasting menus can sometimes be but creative and thoughtful. What was really revelatory was the accompanying nonalcoholic drinks menu, each nuanced complex beverage carefully crafted to match its accompanying dish
We saw the chef sketching his menus in the foyer, like a game developer making a mind map. Really fascinating!
