I'll second that shot at Big Ag. And eating local means less environmental impact on items being shipped from wherever to your town.

My fav kitchen tool designed for 1 thing… but I use for everything is my fish spatula. Use it every day!

Fav one trick ponies? Would have to be ice cream maker & pop over pans. Don’t use either for anything but their intended purpose. And when either comes out….it’s going to be yummy.

On a side note..😂…just returned from my fav produce spot. After 10 days of being pretty sick & zero interest in a fruit or vegetable…time to clean out frig & restock. First on the menu today? Making AZ’s Gazpacho….chopping vegetables as I was watching this…now mad at both of you cuz i am now craving both mangos & $11 cherries! 😂🍒 🥭

You could use your egg slicer to cut strawberries. I use that or the Pampered Chef Quick slice for eggs, strawberries and a whole bunch of things. PC also has a Cherry and Olive Pitter.

Not exactly a kitchen gadget, but a serrated grapefruit spoon is perfect for scraping the gills out of large portobello mushrooms, and to remove the seeds and membrane from chili peppers!

OoooOoooOOOoooh love this!

The gadget I need most is my wing corkscrew wine opener, for obvious reasons.

PS the cherry cake looks delicious. Cherries are my favorite stone fruit.

I've been a huge fan of yours & Alton Brown ever since the outset of the Food Network... I believe in Alton's rule about 'Uni-Taskers', "Don't buy them.!!!"... I have an old-fashion spring-loaded metal cherry pitter, yet growing-up I originally thought it was an olive pitter. Initially I watched it being used for pitting olives, dates, then cherries, as a 4 year old, thus to me it's just a "Pitter"... Thus your cherry pitter is a Multi-Tasker.!! Like yourself, I have an old-fashion metal wire Egg Slicer, is also a multi-tasker for slicing soft thing uniformly, avocado's, a number of fruits... + after slicing one-way, I'll carefully turn-it 90º and Voilà, its diced... Another unitasker, that's a terrific multi-tasker is the serrated Grapefruit spoon. I use that on lots of veggies & fruits as well... I'm a fairly resourceful and clever guy, a Kitchen MacGuyver type like Alton in that sense, he's got a few sensational self-made kitchen gadgets... In general I believe most uni-taskers are multi-taskers... even your Rice Cooker can be used for an array foods... This is a link to Alton's YouTube reviews of the dumbest kitchen gadgets < https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgFeVlw2Ywg >

If you like Hot Dogs, which I know you DO Andrew, along with fat sausages, I use a long "corer" and slide it down the center of a nice fat kosher dog, hollow it out; then dice the skinny meat tube, and mix it with freshly grated cheese, or guacamole or wherever moves me, and stuff-it. I know that sounds petty bizarre, yet that the fun of food, experimenting...

Btw: I'll apologize in advance, yet watching this current GFY, about halfway thru, Molly & U stopped looking towards the camera, thus basically watching the 2 of you having a face-to-face conversation and we're all intruding or eavesdropping on a private chit-chat... may I suggest, placing a mirror next to the camera big enough to see each other... thus talking to Molly via the mirror, while still looking at the camera and all of your subscribers... just a suggestion, otherwise I apologize... it's not for me to say... So OOPs Sorry... Please don't suspend my subscription....

As usual you 2, best regards always, stay well, keep safe & take care you 2 & All your subscribers, It's Martini time w/ 3 anchovy-stuffed olives + 2 cocktail pearl onions, SOooo Cheers All & tally-ho and away I go....

HA! Andrew and I discussed how we should talk to each other in the last video-- he thought looking at the camera was awkward. I don't know... he signs my paycheck, so I just do whatever he says ;)

I am terrible at cutting up mangoes. I always butcher them, so I buy pre-cut.

Also mangos in Indonesia and Thailand are on another level than what we get here in the states. Biggest avocado I ever saw in my life in Indonesia, it was amazing!

So I can not live without my popover pan. I don't make then often, but they are so delicious! Likewise, I only use my potato ricer when I make gnocchi, one of my very old Italian patients shared his secret recipe and the only better gnocchi I have had was Marc Vetri's on my birthday!

I am very intrigued by these popover pans!

Get one & experiment! I used to only make them at holidays. Now it’s become my fav thing to serve with a big healthy summer salad…a popover made with Gruyère & garden herbs with some herby butter on the side…it is the easiest most delicious bread treat. Has to be eaten warm, and don’t skimp on the prep of the pan (heating) before putting in batter. Cool to do with kids too! Little batter…giant popover . Cooking science.

Do you have a Sprouts store in Minneapolis? I’m wondering if our Sprouts stores(I’m in Colorado) carry only local produce. I heard that they do but how would I know for sure?

We don't. But lots of great co-ops, farmers markets, etc.
