OMG....Roe v Wade, Saudi-backed golf tournaments, and now the Choco Taco is disappearing from the comfort food horizon. I can't take much more. I too loved those damn things, Andrew, and I also loved how they got soft and chewy after a few minutes. Choco Taco was an old flame of mine.....(que in "The Way We Were" by Barbara Streisand.) I'm depressed and reaching for my Nutella, a tried and true love, always there to make me feel better. Now, the Necco wafers? I'm with Molly on those nasty things. It's like eating a dusty paint chip you've scraped just scraped off the wall.

Now I’m all riled up about it again & going to have to go on another hunt to find some! (I remember buying these over 20 years ago when I was babysitting my godsons…always the cool aunt 😎, three of us all had the same reaction…🎉 ) buying them ever since!

OK, Neccos. I will die on this hill. How can you not like Neccos???? They are one of my candy wubbies….always make me feel better.

When my kids were young. We would all run outside to catch the Ice Cream man. The kids ran after the truck like rabid wolves to secure something that was a color not found in nature and that would stain their faces for a few weeks licking some sort of cartoon characters face with gumball eyes. I would, on the other hand, buy not one but TWO choco tacos , one for that moment and one for another day........okay okay....that other day being later that hour bhabhbahahh. No regrets. RIP my sweet sweet taco friend.

I miss banana flips! I think they were a Hostess brand item. I just read there’s a place in Hibbing, Mn that makes them

Fresh and ships them. I’ll wait until temps cool down before I invest in those.

Choco-tacos were fought over in our house.

I often missed the window of opportunity.

Ah the Choco Taco... I first discovered these late in life while deployed with the Army at a location run by the Navy. Once or twice a month, the freezer in the mess tent would get stocked with Choco Tacos--quite the morale booster. Maybe all of our overseas military adventures were the only thing propping up Choco Taco sales... Who knows?

One food item that I miss from my childhood was Thick'n'Frosty, some sort of quiescently frozen treat made by the fine folks at the Birds Eye. You would take a scoop Thick'n'Frosty out of its quart container, mix it with milk and have a ready-made milkshake. It came in three flavors: chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Good memories of it as a kid, although I'm not sure it pass an adult's palate.

Not a food item, but was saddened when the Go Fork Yourself podcast was discontinued. I still think about the Alton Brown interview every once in a while. So of course I'm ecstatic now that it's back. Am I to assume it's no longer recorded above a Subway Sandwich shop?

Yes yes yes yes yes! The deliciously soft, leathery chewiness! What's not to love?? Sort of like a low-rent frozen stroopwafel.

And I'm with you on Neccos. I could mow through an entire sleeve in one sitting, even if the texture set my teeth on edge.

I pretty much parallel Molly's love of the Choco Taco.... Yum-Yuc... Yes, Unilever, but it was a 'Good Humor' ice cream novelty, yet Klondike is also under Unilever umbrella... According to WSJ, Unilever said, "Unprecedented spike in demand” and supply chain issues forced it to discontinue the Choco Taco and other products. But after the backlash from fans, it is already 'exploring options to bring it back." SOooo Andrew, there's hope on the horizon for one of your favorite indulges...

As for your ever fondness of NECCO Wafers, Molly's observation of that treat is some extent true... yet screw what they look like, all dusty-ish, it's about about that nostalgic taste of my childhood. I search them out, and when I find them, I'll buy 2-3 boxes of them... for storing them over time is not an issue, because the wafers already look like they're made 5-10 years ago... regardless of when they were produced, I LUV'EM.!!!

As for Papaya King, a truly iconic establishment, was a go-to place when I visited my sister & hubby

in NYC; they live on 76th & 3rd, so I was always close... I first ran into Anthony Bourdain there, and subsequently 8 more times. He didn't remember me, yet after we crossed paths there, he recognized me, which that was the coolest feeling if standing in my shoes... I've mentioned before, that you and Anthony were what inspired me to pursue a culinary career... you truly knew him, for that alone, I envy you and all those who did...

I always thought that a collaboration would of made for enticing and extremely interesting read... His lose was without question was devastating to myself, the industry, and even more so for people such as yourself and all his friends & associates... what a bummer... I have his whole library of No Reservations, The Layover & Parts Unknown. Something I treasure in my little video library...

Best regards Andrew, Molly & all your subscribers...
