Lake, stream, ocean..pretty much anything that comes out of the water..I’m in! I forgot about Swans in S.F., always delicious, great place with a group & a table full of plates to share. Le Bernardin is a food goal…sticking local….Joe’s Stone Crab in Chicago is top of the list. For down & dirty garlic & butter dripping down your arms I’m headed to Bob Chinns, Honestly I’d go there just for the herbed garlic rolls, Mai tai & a platter of shrimp. I’m fortunate to live near a sea food distributor that has a storefront also. I’m happy to ask the guys behind the counter what do I want today? They’ve never steered me wrong.

I had the most beautiful fresh crab sandwich in Maine a few years ago. I can still taste the flavour it was so delicious.

Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese at the Schooner in Netarts, Oregon. Fantastic, very small place that uses local fare. And it's literally right up the road from the Tillamook Cheese Factory, so what's not to love about this. I like trout, it has great flavor, but the bones....that's what gets me.

My favorite seafood place now only exists in my memory. My Dad had found a smallmouth bass hot spot on the Mississippi where we could fish from shore near Elk River, MN and reliably catch a limit. We would pick up a dozen ears of corn at Parkers roadside stand and proceed to a meal that rivals LeBernardin (in my memory). I would peel the corn and my Dad would filet the bass, then dredge them in an egg wash and homemade crushed saltine crumbs. Mom’s job was tartar sauce, made from a mix of Miracle Whip and pickled relish. I don’t cook that way anymore, but the taste/memory is pure deliciousness as only the memory of being an 8 year old can conjure.

Fantastic recipe and can't wait to try it. I just picked some fresh meyer lemons off my tree here in Orlando. But, Andrew come on. You live in Minneapolis! No love for any Great Lakes whitefish, walleye, or perch places? :) Keep up the great cooking and sharing.
