What city are you dreaming of eating your way around?

Over the last few weeks, my inbox has been crawling with listicles and a few caught my eye immediately.

The clickbait line:

“This is the #1 destination for diners in the world…”

So I bit.

The answer was Rome. On both of the two I saw. One was a food mag, one a travel mag. Their readers picked Rome.

Now, I love the Eternal City. I love the food of the whole region of Lazio… and Rome of course, attracts chefs and restaurateurs from all over Italy. So many styles of food— Italian and otherwise— can be found there. The food and the markets, shops, food halls, and so on are spectacular. A world class food city for sure.

BUT, it’s not in my top 10.

I am not sure it’s even my favorite food destination in Italy. And I LOVE Rome…

So I want to ask you, my people…

If you could travel to any place on earth right now, based solely on their food scene, where would it be and why?

And I promise next week to give you my top 10 if you reply prodigiously to my question.

New Orleans has always been my go to city for the best bites in my life. It is up there with New York City. I have lived in both cities and never had enough of any of it to satisfy me. Out of the US it would be Hong Kong.
