New Orleans has always been my go to city for the best bites in my life. It is up there with New York City. I have lived in both cities and never had enough of any of it to satisfy me. Out of the US it would be Hong Kong.
Not being very well traveled I would have to say my favorite food city is whatever city I happen to be in at the time. Digging around, finding the places, better called joints, that have no website... No QR Code menus. Discovering the food that fuels the city and puts money back in it's peoples pockets. I love food from all walks of life, but if I can feel like a link in the chain that drives a local food scene, that's the most satisfying bite.
My first thought was Paris. And while I’d eat my weight in pistachio macaroons, I’d love to explore all non-French cuisine. But what’s calling me?? Is Italian country-side…I want to eat what the Italian grandmas are cooking. I live in a great US food city….but if I were staying in US, I’d be headed to San Francisco….hands down a favorite place to explore food.
I've lived in Italy for 16 years and I agree about this (am a little bit surprised to be honest as Roman food is typically, well, I'd describe it as simple and frugal). But for me, hands down, the place I'd go to for its food is Tokyo.
For so long, I've wanted to visit and travel around Italy, not the big cities, but the smaller ones. To have a guide with us who knows the countryside and smaller cities/towns and it's people where we could stop to visit and eat real Italian food and taste fine wine would be a dream! My main problem with this dream-I'm lactose intolerant so it will be a bit rough for me. Guess the wine will have to make up for all the cheeses I would miss! Except the goat and sheep cheese and parmesan I could have! :)

Vietnam. I’ve never been there. It’s my favorite food here in the USA. Anthony Bourdain sold me on Vietnam.
Amalfi. New Orleans. Siena. San Francisco. Seattle. Cesenatico. Bangkok. Tokyo. And so on.
I think Thailand would be so fun. So many influences on their food and culture. Wish airfare wasn't so much to get there.
Can i have two? Mombasa cuisine is simply delicious..try some local biryani and the other would be Thai food.

My favourite food city must definitely be Bangkok. I just love Thai food.
Definitely NOLA. Love the food there.
I’m not very well traveled so NYC and Seattle.
Spain (tapas/paella), the Mediterranean (falafel/gyros/lamb/fruits/veggies), Austria/Germany (beer/sausages/strudels) Did I mention... beer?
Lisbon. Yum.
