I agree with what Valerie Bertinelli said about the Food Network; it’s not about cooking and learning anymore. It’s all stupid competitions, which I have no interest in and rarely watch. That’s just me I guess.
I stopped watching the Food Network a long time ago when they started featuring their absurd competitions. Even the ones featuring renowned chefs denigrate the art of cooking by putting the emphasis on winning. Some competitions even feature trash talking chefs mimicking sports. If you don’t win, you’re a loser. PBS gets cooking shows right.
I disagree that people want ghost & paranormal shows on the Travel Channel. Ask any American or anyone around the world, and they all have fond memories of No Reservations and Bizarre Foods. Nobody is interested in ghost & paranormal shows. (Maybe teenagers are interested in the paranormal shows? But even they aren't because they are glued to their phones watching Tik Tok.) I stopped watching the Travel Channel when the ghost & paranormal stuff replaced travel shows. As far as the Food Network, it is half-half. 50 % of us enjoy cooking shows and would prefer to watch a famous chef cook than to watch a competition. No we don't want to go to You Tube to see bits and pieces of someone cooking. We enjoy watching the chef show his or her personality as he or she cooks up a dish. We enjoyed watching Ina G and S. Tucci drink a martini and cook together. Haven't you noticed all of the comments in your IG feed?....You are always being asked why Bizarre Foods ended. I don't know where the Travel Channel and the Food Network got their ratings from... It's bunk.
2. I have no interest in paying to have someone cook up a famous chef meal for me. I could care less who is cooking my food as long as I like it.
3. I hate competition shows of any kind, especially cooking. At least I have PBS where I can watch someone like Lidia actually cook and there is usually some great scenery, if only of her backyard kitchen.
Andrew, you do a great job of educating people without being condescending. Thanks.

It’s degradable that people prefer to watch ghosts and paranormal junk. Belittle to be said that we have come to this point with this society! 😕
Chef, you’ve been famous for quite some time now. Do you remember when people first started to recognize you from television and what if felt like?
Follow up question, do you remember getting your first sizable check in the mail and the first big ticket item you bought with it?
Kudos to you on the STEM thing....very cool.
