Bologna talk brings back a good food memory…my dad used to make fried bologna sandwiches, my mom hated the smell & insisted they were bad for him. As a kid, if we smelled him making one…that meant mom was out of the house & dad was going rogue which was fun for us as kids, or it meant he was packing sandwiches to take the boat out fishing…also fun for us! This is the same guy who would also fry liverwurst… 😬🤢.

Hi Andrew! Will you tell us about a possibly embarrassing experience where you have been in a different country and didn't quite know the customary way to eat or drink something? Did you handle your food incorrectly? Did you do it in the wrong order? Were you facing the wrong direction? We are all learning! Thank you!

Previous question you posed... anything we would like to get help with cooking. Had to let the question sit with me for awhile, so I found the one dish I could accomplish stovetop. (Have to remove all my cookware from oven to use it...). So... when I was in Hungary, I had a fish soup, (fish from the Duna River...)thick and redolent from the paprika, it was oily in a deeply savory way. I saw one episode you did in Hungary, cooking a fish stew, stirring carefully so as not to break up the fish. I think this was it. A humble fisherman stew. I have been craving that deep oily paprika soup. Would you, could you help me recreate it?

So a "what do I do with?" question ... I have been gifted more kohlrabi than I know what to do with ... any recommendations? It's a bizarre problem to have, I know ...

I'm sorry ... just can't get past that B-O-L-O-G-N-A Serenading song. Never did like it, even though I grew up on mortadella. I know ... makes little sense ...

Speaking of bologna, do you have a favorite sandwich? And where do you go to get it? Every time I go to San Francisco, I head to Saigon Sandwich for the Special Bahn Mi. You?

Andrew, thanks for answering my question from last week. This question is more of a statement, but at the end, I would like to know your answer. I have watched probably every episode of every show you have done since the early days of Bizarre Foods. On one of those early shows you did Trinidad and Tobago. At a shack on the beach they were cooking shark sandwiches. When I saw how they made them, I wanted one desperately. Then, you said it was among the 3 best sandwiches you had ever eaten. Do you still feel that way?

I’m concerned with eating healthy, but it feels like foods that are shit for you are always so appetizing. Any pointers on healthy (preferably not so expensive) ways to liven/elevate a dish? I need to stop adding butter to everything. Thank you!

I live two blocks from Martins BBQ. That bologna sandwich is my goto for lunch. So good.

Potted Meat is an Armour product, like a poor person's Deviled Ham. I would take sandwiches made from that to High School for Lunch in the mid-'70s.
