Velveeta. My husband and I are both working class kids from the Midwest. Velveeta was a near and dear part of our childhoods and we won't give it up. There's nothing better for cheesy scrambled eggs or to mix with a can of Rotel in a crockpot.

Spam. I know you hate it, Andrew, but to me there's nothing better than a fried spam sandwich on white bread with mayo and mustard. A million Hawaiians can't be wrong!

Oh no, those were way too fancy! What about those cheap frozen pot pies that would burn your lips off they were so molten hot and you couldn't wait til they cooled down?

Banquet pot pies got me through grad school. Once I had a real pay check I moved up to Marie Callendar!

Moon Pies, Funyons (not even sure it's food or onion flavored packaging peanuts but consumed with a cold Dr. Pepper....I think I turn into a vampire or something but I likey.) Lucky Charms (because they make me feel MAGICALLY DELICIOUS and also lucky when I find non expired milk in my frig.) Shrimp or Crab crackers from the asian market...don't know what they are or if they even have any shrimp or if they are just mildly stinky pucks but they are addictive and I don't really care....along with Pocky, I feel no shame...Asian community please adopt me and help me to more fully understand the contents of your market jewels of snack possibilities. PS Thank you for selling scallions pancakes in your freezers.

Omg! Yes to all Asian snacks! Best when I have zero idea what they are until biting into them. Crazier looking packaging the better. And the spicy peanuts!!🌶 addictive

I'm pretty sure that you could successfully ship a Faberge Egg to Andrew Zimmern in Minnesota without breakage. : ) Such is the power of the Funyon!

So ... two ...

Long car trips + fatigue = Swiss Rolls. They make me happy & cheer me up for a while.

Then, of course, Chips Ahoy. I’m better now, and buy little packs, but during college I would stop on my way out of Poughkeepsie for trips home and buy that pack of Chips Ahoy with two sleeves, and a few Diet Pepsi. (Yes, I know: everyone just rolled their eyes.) One roll of cookies was pulled from the pack; the rest of the package went under the driver’s seat of my 1978 Monte Carlo, and I was on my way. When Sunday or Monday came and I was headed back for classes, out came the rest of the Chips Ahoy and whatever bottles or cans of diet soda I could snag from my parents. Four solid years of this ... 38 years later and I STILL love my Chips Ahoy. Yes, the cookies I bake are much better tasting and healthier, but I still want my Chips Ahoy.
